What's new

The biggest things we shipped each month, newest first. Last updated Oct 2026.

October 2026

October starts with feedback from contractors using the app every day: the Jobs page goes back to showing your jobs.

  1. Oct 1
    Improved

Jobs first on the Jobs page

The Jobs page opens on your jobs again, with the one you worked on most recently at the top, so whatever's moving stays in reach and stalled work drifts down. Proposals follow underneath. The archive now keeps old jobs and old proposals in separate sections.

5 smaller improvements and fixes
  • Filing one charge at a time now offers the jobs you've filed to most recently, with the likely one first, instead of asking yes or no.
  • Filing no longer suggests a job from the bank text or receipt; it offers the jobs you've filed to most recently instead. Receipts are still read, matched to their charge and split by their lines.
  • Project costing uses plainer column names (Budget, Changes, Updated budget, Spent to date, Remaining), and a category that's over says so in words, in red only when it's over by enough to matter.
  • A job's page is back to its six tabs (Overview, Budget, Change Orders, Transactions, Payments, Project Costing), the Snap receipt button is on the daily screens, and job-site weather is available on every job.
  • Tabs and toggles feel quicker: the highlight slides to what you tapped straight away, and the new page eases in instead of popping.

September 2026

September was about knowing where a job stands before it's too late to act. Jobs now lead with your money and what needs you, budget alerts and a Monday email tell you when a job is slipping, and clients sign change orders online.

    Improved

A job page that leads with your money

Open a job and the first thing you see is where the money stands: the contract, what's spent, what's left, and one line saying whether anything needs you. Four tabs sit under it instead of six (Budget, Charges, Change orders and Billing), each saying what's waiting. The Jobs page now opens on Today, the few things that need you with one button each, and your jobs right below. Take the quick tour.

    New

Budget alerts and a weekly job-health email

Find out a job is going over while you can still do something about it, not weeks after it's done. Owners and admins get an email when a category or a whole job gets close to its budget, and again if it goes over. Every Monday, a job-health email lists your active jobs worst first, with what was spent that week. You choose where "close" starts in Settings → Notifications. How the alerts work.

  3. Sep 28
    New

    Clients sign change orders online

Stop arguing about a handshake change at the final bill. Send a change order from the Change Orders tab and your client reviews the price and the new contract total, then signs or declines with a note. Their signature approves it automatically, and edit it after sending and the old link is withdrawn. Getting a change order signed.

49 smaller improvements and fixes
  • Message support from inside the app. Open Help at the top of any page, or Contact support in your account menu. It suggests a guide for the page you're on first, and replies arrive in the panel and by email.
  • Today shows everything that's your move. It now includes a bank deposit that matches a draw (Book it), the charges we're sure about (File 2 sure), receipts to match and a bank feed that stopped. What's waiting on someone else folds away with the day it comes back, and Done today lists what you got done. Start walks the rest one at a time and you handle each one right there: file charges, match receipts, bill a draw and send it, send a change order or proposal, answer a question, even add a missing client email.
  • Watch the pile go down. Filing one charge at a time now counts "7 filed · 2 left" and ends with what you filed. The Monday email opens with last week: money collected, billed and charges filed.
  • Estimates, billing and the client's pages, sharpened. An estimate says where the proposal stands, what you keep, and what each category cost on your past jobs. A fixed-price job's Billing tab is its payment schedule; other jobs show a bar and offer to mark a draw paid when a matching deposit lands. Clients can ask a question from their pages and a second person can sign.
  • A calmer look: small text is bigger, grey text is easier to read, and labels are no longer in capitals. On a phone, the menu is now a bar along the bottom.
  • A new look. A blueprint blue of our own across the app, the app icon and every email, the IBM Plex typeface (made for engineering drawings and documents), greys with a hint of blue, tighter corners and finer lines. Notices use the same blue, so there's one blue, not two.
  • The page-width option in your account menu is gone; every page now uses one comfortable width.
  • Email your receipts in. Your team gets its own receipt address: forward a supplier's receipt or email a photo. We read the total, and when it matches one charge the receipt attaches itself; anything else waits in the Inbox under Receipts to match. Premium.
  • Charges suggest where they go. A charge with a receipt is matched on the job name, PO or delivery address printed on it and what was bought; one without is matched on the store and the bank text (Graybar goes to Electrical). You get File it with the reason, or Review split when a receipt's lines belong to different categories. Nothing is filed until you tap.
  • Receipts find their charge. A receipt waiting under Receipts to match now says Probably a charge when one clearly fits (same amount and store, posted a few days later, or a tip added), and Attach does it.
  • Split a charge by its receipt's lines. Every receipt is now read line by line. In Split, tap which part each line goes to (lumber to one job, paint to another) and the tax is shared out for you. A receipt whose total doesn't match its charge gets flagged.
  • Snap a receipt in the app. Add receipt on the Inbox takes a photo or a PDF, reads it, and attaches it to the matching charge. Paid cash? Add as expense records it from the receipt.
  • Share a live progress link with your client. One bookmarkable page with the contract, approved change orders, payments and balance, updated as you work, and never your costs. Find it under Share with client on any active job.
  • See who owes you money. Draw requests now have due dates, the Jobs page shows every open draw and how late it is, and Remind sends your client a polite email with the draw attached. The Monday email lists late draws first.
  • Allowances. Mark a category as an allowance ("$3,000 for tile") and the proposal labels it for the client. When their picks come in over, the category offers a change order already filled in for the difference, ready to send for their signature.
  • Proposals show your client the scope and the price, not your rates. By default each line is listed by its description with category totals and the contract total, but no quantities, unit prices, per-line amounts or fee percentage. Turn any of them back on for one job, or for every job in Settings.
  • Clients get their own signed copy. When a client signs a proposal or a change order, they're emailed a copy with the price, the date and a PDF to keep, and if they reply, it comes to you.
  • Put the payment schedule in the proposal. Mark a job fixed price or cost-plus. A fixed-price proposal carries your schedule in dollars (deposit at signing, milestone payments in your words, the final payment), and warns you when the deposit is over your state's cap. The client signs it with everything else. Once the job is active, Billing walks that schedule one payment at a time (Bill this payment makes the draw), an approved change order joins the next payment, and the draw sheet shows the client the schedule rather than your costs.
  • Your costs stay yours on fixed-price jobs. The draw sheet no longer shows the client what each category cost you; it reads as a plain invoice (contract, paid, this request, what's left). Cost-plus jobs still show costs and the fee. Change it per job, or in Settings for each kind of job.
  • Follow up without chasing. Today now offers Send on a draw you haven't sent, Remind on a late one and Nudge on a proposal that's been waiting a few days, each right there with a confirm. The Monday email adds what's coming up: draws due that week, the next payment to bill and proposals waiting. Nothing goes to a client unless you click.
  • Send a draw from the app and see when it's been looked at. Send emails your client the draw as a PDF with your progress link, and the draw shows when they last opened their progress page. Cost-plus jobs bill your fee along with your costs.
  • Price from what jobs really cost. Give jobs a type, start a new proposal from what a past job actually cost instead of its budget, and see how your last similar jobs came in (and which categories ran over) while you price the next one.
  • Export for your accountant in Settings: a spreadsheet of every transaction (with job, category, vendor and GL code) and every client payment for the year, ready for your bookkeeper. Free on every plan.
  • Archive, Mark complete and Delete a job from its actions menu. Archived jobs keep their history and don't count toward the free plan's job limit.
  • The whole app works comfortably on a phone: bigger buttons, bottom-sheet menus, and tables that become sortable cards.
  • Fixed: on a laptop, Today's list sat narrower than the page when nothing was done yet, and Start opened in a tall, mostly empty window. It now fits each step, as a bottom sheet on a phone.
  • Sign in with a passkey (Touch ID, Face ID or your device PIN) instead of waiting for an email link.
  • Move a transaction to another job, or back to the inbox, from the selection bar or the row's ⋯ menu.
  • Start a new proposal from a past job, copying its categories, line items and estimates.
  • Fit to one page on the draw sheet shrinks a long schedule of values onto a single printed page.
  • The category picker on a money-in row now leads with Book as client payment…, and those rows are badged Credit.
  • Every row in the spreadsheet view has a Delete link, and ⌘⌫ or Ctrl+Backspace removes selected rows.
  • The budget table is quicker to read: Remaining says "$1,700.00 over" in words, a category's type moved into its ⋯ menu, and a small + Item button replaced the "Add line item" row under every category.
  • Line items can be Subcontractor or Equipment as well as labor, material or other, and categories no longer ask for a labor / materials type.
  • Dark mode is easier to read, with brighter links and badges.
  • Tabs, sorting and paging keep the page header in place, and dialogs open and close smoothly.
  • Fixed: receipt photos you add or email in are read again (vendor, date and total), so they can attach themselves to the matching charge.
  • Fixed: a receipt that couldn't be read now has a Read again button, and a busy moment on our side no longer leaves an emailed receipt unread.
  • Adding a receipt no longer makes you wait while it's read: tap, it uploads, and you'll get a note when it's matched to its charge, even if you've moved on.
  • Fixed: the project statement no longer shows your actual cost per category unless you turn on Completed to date in its display options.
  • Fixed: Download my data listed a split charge twice, once whole and once as its parts.
  • Help doc screenshots stay readable on a phone, with numbered notes you can tap.
  • A clearer privacy policy for visitors who arrive from an ad, and a new "Do not sell or share" page.
  • Fixed: the jobs list showed spend as zero on every job; it now matches each job's budget bar.
  • Fixed: Settings could show an error page instead of loading.
  • Fixed: Google sign-in in Safari failing the first time with a "Configuration" error.
  • Fixed: downloaded PDFs no longer include the app's header bar.
  • Fixed: menus on a phone now close when you tap outside them.
  • Fixed: a change order the client declined, or one you never sent, no longer shows on Today as "waiting on the client"; it says what to do next.

August 2026

August made the money side of a job add up. Client deposits from your bank now count as payments, Project Costing shows what's been funded next to what's been spent, and the help docs now cover the whole app.

  1. Aug 20
    New

See where the money comes from on Project Costing

Next to what a job has cost, you can now see what the client has paid toward it. Below the schedule of values, a source of funds table shows funded to date, percent funded and the balance still to come. Payments and pending draw requests are listed with running totals. It all prints on the draw sheet, or you can hide it there with one switch. Read about Project Costing.

  2. Aug 15
    Improved

Help that covers the whole app

The documentation now covers every part of the app, and the first paragraph of each page is enough if that's all you need. Screenshots follow your light or dark theme and point at the exact button being described. Open the docs from your account menu, from search, or from the Guide link on the pages people ask about most. Browse the docs.

  3. Aug 13
    New

Turn a bank deposit into a client payment

A client deposit that lands in your inbox can now be booked straight to the job as a client payment. Before, it counted as negative spending, which understated what you'd spent and overstated what was left. If you book one by mistake, deleting the payment puts the deposit back in your inbox.

10 smaller improvements and fixes
  • Set the GC fee's adjustment to automatic, a flat amount, or a percentage of the categories you pick.
  • Edit a client payment in place instead of deleting and re-entering it.
  • Print proposals, statements and draw sheets in landscape.
  • Support needs your explicit permission to make changes to your account, and you can see every change they made.
  • Fixed: re-importing a bank statement could bring back a deposit you'd already booked as a payment.
  • Fixed: a negative change order could split its minus sign onto its own line on the draw sheet.
  • Fixed: the first transaction in a wide table could hide behind the column headings.
  • Fixed: the printed draw sheet's Original column now matches the Project Costing tab.
  • Fixed: unread badges clear as soon as you've dealt with everything.
  • Fixed: starting one sign-in method and then another straight away no longer causes a sign-in error.

July 2026

July brought the draw schedule and proper bookkeeping. Project Costing lays every job out as a schedule of values, vendors became real records with 1099 tracking, and receipts can be attached to any transaction.

  1. Jul 19
    New

Vendors, GL codes and 1099 tracking

Vendors are now real records instead of whatever text the bank sent. Each one carries a GL code, a tax ID and a 1099 flag, and new transactions match themselves to the right vendor as they arrive. The 1099 report totals each flagged vendor for the year and highlights anyone over the reporting threshold. Read about vendors.

  2. Jul 19
    New

    Attach receipts to any transaction

Keep the receipt with the charge it belongs to. Drag it onto a transaction row, or use the paperclip to upload one. On a phone the upload opens your camera, so you can photograph a receipt at the supplier counter and attach it before you've left the parking lot.

  3. Jul 18
    New

    Project Costing: the draw schedule

A new tab lays your job out as a schedule of values: original, adjustments, revised, spent, percent complete and balance for every category. Raise a draw request from it, and the figures are frozen the moment you do, so the copy you sent the client never changes underneath you. Read about Project Costing.

3 smaller improvements and fixes
  • Type an adjustment straight into a line's +/- column on Project Costing, with no change order needed.
  • Sort any table by clicking a column header, and drag a header's edge to resize the column.
  • Short tips now appear next to features that are easy to miss, once each.

June 2026

June made estimates smarter. Fees and contingencies can now live inside a category and recalculate themselves as the work changes.

  1. Jun 1
    New

    Fee and contingency line items

Fees and contingencies no longer need their own category. Add one as a line item inside any category, set it as a percentage of the items you choose, and it recalculates itself whenever the work it's based on changes. Read about line items.

1 smaller improvement or fix
  • Large inboxes load a page at a time, and search and filters cover the whole inbox.

May 2026

May ended CSV exports. Connect your bank and charges arrive on their own, rules file them for you, and a single charge can be split across jobs.

  1. May 30
    New

Rules that categorize spending for you

Tell the app that a supplier always belongs to a particular job or category, and it files their future charges automatically. Rules run as transactions arrive, and you can apply them to everything already waiting in your inbox in one go.

  2. May 22
    New

    Split one charge across jobs

One supplier charge can now be divided across several jobs or categories, each part with its own amount. The parts must add up to the original charge, so a split can never quietly change what you actually spent.

  3. May 20
    New

    Connect your bank

Stop exporting CSVs. Connect a bank account and new charges arrive in your transaction inbox on their own. Your categorization rules still apply, so a charge from a supplier you've already sorted out lands on the right budget line. Read about the inbox.

1 smaller improvement or fix
  • Save any job as a template, and start new jobs from it with the categories, line items and estimates in place.
